Aircraft leasing firm DAE Capital has delivered its first Boeing 777 Freighter to Emirates SkyCargo, marking the second arrival of the model into the Emirates fleet.
“Our latest addition of the first Boeing 777F is a welcome addition to our fleet and is the largest and most technologically advanced freighter available, marking the beginning of a new generation of world-class freighters,” said HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline and Group.
“Further it is in line with Emirates SkyCargo’s expansion plans and maintains out goal of operating the world’s most environmentally efficient fleet,” added Sheikh Ahmed.
DAE Capital has a further seven GE90-115B-powered freighters of this type to deliver to SkyCargo between 2009 and 2014.
The arrival caps a strong couple of weeks for SkyCargo, which performed better than expected with regard to the Emirates Group overall results, by increasing revenues and volumes despite the collapse in international trade volumes.
The carrier also won the prestigious Cargo Operator of the Year (Commercial Airline) category at this week’s Supply Chain and Transport Awards (SCATA), which were held in Dubai.
