Zebra's SPARCS solutions will be fully integrated into Terminal 1 at Jebel Ali by the year's end.
DP World has implemented a new business intelligence software tool to improve operational efficiencies at Jebel Ali Ports’ Terminal 1.
The Navis SPARCS Analytics and SPARCS Monitor, provided by US firm Zebra Enterprise Solutions, will form a key component of DP World’s regional corporate data warehouse.
"Before business intelligence software, collecting this information was not only very laborious, but it was also too late to provide the kind of real-time feedback that we needed to proactively manage our operations,” said Pedro Caballero, director – terminal planning and performance at DP World’s UAE region.
"With this business intelligence system, we will have instant access to the health of the operations and can optimise our equipment and labour to achieve the level of performance that we and our customers expect.”
SPARCS Monitor is real-time performance-monitoring application that allows managers and staff to identify emerging issues and stay focused on operational goals. SPARCS Analytics helps operators reduce paper work and manual steps in terms of data entry and report generation.
It’s already been a strong year for Zebra in the Middle East; in March, Dnata selected the company to assist with its ground-handling operations.
