Aramex has formed a cargo partnership with Air Arabia to cover the Middle East, Africa and Indian subcontinent.
Officials from both companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) last month, allowing Aramex to establish a sorting hub at Air Arabia’s cargo facility in Sharjah International Airport. In addition, the low cost airline has agreed to expedite the recovery of Aramex’s courier shipments from its flights.
“This deal with Air Arabia and the launch of our hub in Sharjah is part of Aramex’s strategy to mobilise its express consignments at a reduced cost and with the most competitive transit time,” said Hussein Hachem, chief executive officer of Aramex in the Gulf region.
“The recent launch of our value express service is a further testament to this commitment. Now, with this agreement, Aramex will utilise the extensive network and cost-efficiency of Air Arabia to provide its express customers with outstanding connectivity and reliability,” he added.
