DHL has expanded its ocean freight operations with the launch of a direct LCL (Less than Container Load) service that connects Nhava Sheva in India to Dubai.
The weekly service will be operated by DHL Lemuir Logistics, a joint venture between DHL Global Forwarding and Mumbai-based Lemuir Group.
“DHL’s first priority is to serve all major markets with direct consolidations from our strong network of national gateways. As businesses remain cost-conscious without sacrificing service quality, LCL service remains an ideal option,” commented Christoph Remund, chief executive officer of DHL Lemuir Logistics.
“The launch of this vital link from Nhava Sheva to Dubai continues to enhance our leading position in the industry as an LCL service provider,” he added.
With the launch of this service, DHL Global Forwarding will also enable the seamless flow of ocean freight cargo through Dubai to other GCC countries, such as Muscat, Kuwait and Oman.
