Reed Exhibitions has confirmed that SITL Dubai will return in 2011, contrary to previous reports that the logistics exhibition was being planned for 2010.

The trade show made its debut in the Middle East earlier this year, with approximately 80 exhibitors taking part, including DP World, Jebel Ali Free Zone, Agility, Al-Futtaim Logistics, Port of Sohar and TNT Express. However, the final tally was lower than earlier predictions of 250 exhibitors.

“Reed Exhibitions has decided to organise the next edition of SITL Dubai on 5th-7th June 2011, in co-location with our successful annual event The Airport Show Exhibition & Conference. This will provide participants with enhanced business, networking and content opportunities and an even larger audience from both public and private sector involved in logistics and transport,” stated Mohamad Bader-Eddin, show director of Reed Exhibitions Middle East.

“SITL is viewed as the ultimate event for sea and land freight sectors while partly including the airports and airliner sectors. Having the Airport Show attracting all the airlines and airports to the exhibitors, the combination of both shows will be advantageous as SITL will become the ideal event covering the entire transport industry,” he added.

Two other logistics exhibitions – Materials Handling Middle East and CeMAT Middle East – are also scheduled to take place in 2011.
