Cargoitalia has announced plans to commence a bi-weekly service to Dubai from 16th January 2010.
The airfreight operator, which started its scheduled operations in September 2009, has selected Dubai as a stop on its Wednesday and Saturday service to Hong Kong.
“The Dubai service will carry cargo from Milan, and will also provide a through connection for traffic from Cargoitalia’s North American stations,” said Roberto Gilardoni, commercial director of Cargoitalia.
From 21st January, Cargoitalia will also add Chicago to its Thursday transAtlantic service, now operating Milan – New York – Chicago – Milan.
“These new destinations are designed to create more revenue opportunities from our existing operations, and to test demand,” said Gilardoni. “Subject to support for the revised services, and because our operations have now bedded in so well, we are considering stepping up transAtlantic operations with the addition of a Sunday service routing Milan – New York-Chicago –– Milan, plus a third weekly departure to Hong Kong,” he added.
Cargoitalia has provisionally scheduled its third MD11F aircraft for June, which is likely to be deployed on services to and from Shanghai.
