Singapore Airshow 2010 – one of the top three aerospace and defence exhibitions in the world and the largest in Asia – has been hailed a success by organisers, despite a mixed response from visitors and the media.
The opening of the event was marked with a special ceremony on Tuesday 2nd February, attended by Teo Chee Hean, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, and Raymond Lim, Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs.
More than 800 exhibiting companies were expected at the aviation trade show, including 62 of the top 100 global aerospace companies.
According to reports shortly after the event closed yesterday, over 41,000 trade visitors from 122 countries came to the event, while about 71,000 people showed up on the last two days, when the event was opened to the public.
