Emirates has blamed a “technical error” for a recent blunder with its in-flight entertainment system, which resulted in the Etihad Airways logo being aired to passengers.
According to a report by Bloomberg, the branding of Abu Dhabi-based airline Etihad was shown intermittently in the background of a film playing during Emirates flights last month.
“Emirates can confirm that a technical error occurred with security markings on one film,” stated a company for the Dubai government-owned airline. “This error occurred during film encoding by a third-party supplier in the US and as a result has also affected a number of other airlines.”
