Etihad Airways diverted a recent flight to Qatar after a bomb threat was received from a male passenger.
The airline was performing a flight from Abu Dhabi to Larnaca on 26th August 2011 when the incident occurred, according to Aviation Herald.
In response, the Airbus A320-200 made an unscheduled landing at Doha International Airport, where a security check was conducted. However, no bomb or other security risk was discovered.
Qatar police took the passenger into custody and offloaded his luggage.
Etihad Airways was cleared to depart from Doha around 3.5 hours later and headed back to Abu Dhabi, where passengers were transported to Larnaca on an alternative aircraft, which landed with a total delay of six hours and 20 minutes.
