JUDGING OF AWARDS
After the closing date for submissions all nominations will be collected and reviewed by the judging panel. Each award winner will be decided by consensus among the judges and no correspondence will be entered into by outside parties. Judging will be based on the strength of the submissions together with a review of the nominee’s activities in the area of nomination
Salem Rashid Al Noaimi
CEO, Waha Capital
Salem Rashid Al Noaimi is CEO of Waha Capital, the Abu Dhabi-based holding company with four subsidiaries operating in big-ticket leasing, financial services, real estate and maritime.
As CEO of the holding company, Al Noaimi drives Waha Capital's economic diversification strategy via the launch of new companies, joint ventures and acquisitions. The company is a solid supporter of Abu Dhabi's economic vision through the operations of its subsidiaries: Waha Leasing, Waha Land, Waha Maritime, and Waha Financial Services.
Al Noaimi previously served as Deputy CEO of the company and CEO of Waha Leasing, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Waha Capital. Prior to joining Waha Leasing, he joined Oasis in August 2004 as Director of Business Development and Investor Relations going on to become the CEO of the company in 2008.
Al Noaimi is a UAE national with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and International Business from the Northeastern University in Boston, USA.
Ali Al Naqbi
Founding chairman of the Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA)
Mr. Ali Ahmed Al Naqbi took a keen interest in the Aviation Industry from a young age and developed it into a passion as he grew along. He commenced his journey in the Aviation Industry with the high profile and sensitive segment of VIP air transportation and later diversified his interest into Business Aviation with a specific emphasis on the Middle East region.
In his twenty years working with Presidential Flight [Abu Dhabi] as Vice President Finance & Administration, Mr. Ali developed a vast and varied experience in fields such as aircraft procurement, aircraft completion, airport facility development, aircraft sale and aircraft leasing. He also pioneered a business aviation venture from scratch. His contribution to Royal Jet as founder and Managing Director, from the basic business plan till its total organizational and structural formation, is one of the examples of his pioneering spirit and high professionalism.
His strong vision has made a significant contribution to the orderly growth in both Business Aviation and the VIP air transportation fields which culminated in the development of a manufacturing base for such aircraft as well as the set up of a completion center in the region.
Fathi Hilal Buhazza
President & CEO of Maximus air cargo And founder of Care by air
Fathi Hilal Buhazza is the President and CEO of Maximus Air Cargo, the region’s largest all air cargo company. The company, which is part of Abu Dhabi Aviation Group, is a solid advocate of aviation safety in the region and is the official partner of the UAE Red Crescent. Buhazza has steered the growth of the company since its inception and the airline now has a growing fleet serving a variety of customers including Etihad Crystal Cargo
Buhazza’s previous posts include Director of Operations at Abu Dhabi Amiri Flight. He is also a graduate of INSEAD Graduate Business School. Buhazza’s aviation career began in 1981 when he joined the UAE Air Force as a Navigator on the C130 aircraft. Since then he has used his experience to play an active part in the development of the aviation and logistics field in the UAE.
Buhazza is a UAE national who values the part of social responsibility alongside business. He was recently awarded the SCATA award of Hall of Fame and the past he has been the recipient of awards such as LOG.LEO Social Conscience of the year. One of his most significant achievements was to found ‘Care by Air’, a humanitarian initiative which offers services to relief organisations at cost.
