Qatar Airways has further expanded its African operations with the launch of daily scheduled flights to Rwanda - its 17th destination in the continent. Akbar Al Baker, CEO of the Middle Eastern airline, travelled on the inaugural Airbus A320 flight from Doha, which was greeted at Kigali International Airport with a water salute and performance by traditional Rwandan dancers. A special ceremony was also hosted by Qatar Airways, attended by over 150 guests, including government ministers, local dignitaries, business leaders, airport officials and media. The chief guest was Rwanda's Honourable Minister of Infrastructure, Albert Nsengiyumva.
